Will the spinning brush on my Dyson spin when it's not vaccumming?
I have a Dyson and just cleaned the spinning brush because it was clogged full of hair. When I put it back on and left the vaccum cleaner on it's side to see if the brush would spin. It wasn't spinning when turned on, but moved fine manually. Does the brush only spin when it's actually vaccuming or should it be spinning all the time, even if it's on it's side or back looking at the bottom?
I have a Dyson too. In my experience the brush does not turn (in any position) if I have the setting is on bare floors. If you have it set on carpet then and it is not spinning, you may not have gotten the bar back in correctly. It will still turn manually but not while you are vacuuming. When I clean my bar I always turn it over to make sure it is spinning. If it is set on carpet it turns even on it's side.
Check to be sure you have that bar snapped in correctly.
