What's the best upright vacuum cleaner re: quality and price? Oreck, Dyson, or Hoover? Down to finalists.Thx
For Quality and Price, I would recommend Panasonic Performance Plus Platinum Upright Vacuums with TriForce motor and Air Maxx Infuser. 130 inches of water lift, very high CFM, high quality dual layer bags (don't buy a bagless). These are made in the USA. Please do some research on these before you make your decison. There are only a handful of Panasonic vacs that have the TriForce motor but those are the only ones that I would recommend.
These vacuums have been around for about 10 years basically unchanged. I still have mine and it's very, very strong. Its suction is stronger than my new Miele Callisto canister vac. Brushing action is aggressive. Never had any problems with it except needing to change the belt once every 3 years or so (easy).
The panasonic uprights have a "quick change" feature that make them easy to use for chores you might ordinarily use a cannister vac for. When used in this manner, you really appreciate the powerful suction.
Please do not buy an Oreck (good brush poor suction), Dyson (bagless gimmick), or Hoover (comparable to buying black and decker tools - basic consumer grade not built to last)
If you want quality without regard to price, then there are several european made uprights that are also very good, including Sebo etc.
