What's the best vacuum cleaner for getting up everything including pet hair from carpets besides the Dysons?
I don't wanna pay that much for a Dyson.
I'm with you; I won't pay the price for a Dyson. I work in retail and have seen too many of them returned for problems also.
I had Hoover and thought it was doing a good job until it broke for the third time (twice under warranty) and Hoover wouldn't repair it again or offer any refund. All three times was the same issue and the unit was far from abused!
So I went to Bissell and am quite happy with them! I now have a Healthy Home model that is just wonderful. It has the multiple cyclone technology to spin the dirt out of the airflow, sealed HEPA filtration, a lifetime belt, a 5 year warranty, well designed and handy tools all for around $250. You can find it for $200 on sale.
We have a lot of pets (4 cats and 3 dogs) and it does great with the pet hair! Easy to empty and the sealed HEPA filter works great! And I run it a lot with all these feet running around the house (every other day at least) and it's so easy to use. It's not a light weight unit but I'll call it solidly made!
My first Bissell is still running after 7 years but the catch that hold it in the upright position broke and it kept falling over. Since I was working a lot at the time, hubby was doing a lot of the cleaning and I got tired of the whining! LOL The old sweeper has been delegated to be the suction unit for his power tools in his wood shop in the dust collection system. He's loving the bagless, easy to empty cup!
