Is a new vacuum worth the money? Id like comments on how your vacuum works for you!?
Ive seen the new models out there, and i own a dyson, but i was looking for something less bulky that fits in places without moving furniture all day <(preferably one that still sucks up dirt from hard floors)>.
Ive been comparing prices and reviews on Hoover, Eureka, Dirt Devil, Bissell, and Shark.
Unfortunately i haven't had any friends or family that goes new gadget shopping very often so im looking for plenty of input on your vacuum, including how long you've had it, drawbacks, and how often you've had to change/wash the filters to keep it working right.
Thanks! ^_^
I recently bought a Bissell Healthy Home vacuum and I'm very pleased with it! Cost is about $250 and well worth it! Bagless, multi-cyclonic technology, sealed HEPA filter that gets 99.9% of pet dander and 100 % of things like dust, dirt. Solidly built, lots of on board tools, 5 year warranty and a lifetime belt.
I'm rough on a sweeper with 3 dogs (Lab, German Shepard mix, Papillion) and 4 cats. I sweep at least every other day and have a combination of carpet, vinyl tile and hardwood. The Bissell does great!
I personally wouldn't buy a Dyson, I've seen too many come back to the store with problems and I think they are way over priced. Hoover, Dirt Devil and Eureka are junk; have tried them all over the years and they all failed miserably. This new Bissell replaced another Bissell that was a good 7 years old and the only thing really wrong with it was the catch that holds the sweeper upright broke and it kept falling over. It's still running and has been delegated to hubby's wood shop as the base for his dust collection unit. And I spent less than $100 on that sweeper, so I have gotten my $$ worth out of that one!
I do know that the advanced filtration and pick up on the new one is much better than the other Bissell. Technology changes even with sweepers. My middle son is allergic to cats and he does not sneeze when he comes to visit since I got the new machine. Even if he and his little brother decide to have a wrestling match!
